It's been a very happy new year for Chad Merritt.  As the CSWA entered its down-cycle in January, things stayed calm.  Most of the top talent has been on vacation for two weeks, with the house show schedule significantly reduced.  Merritt has been working on the new show, CSWA: ON TIME, part of the new contract with NCN.  

And, of course, there's Teri.  Not only handsomely paid for her part in the ploy against Hornet (and previously against the ClaimStakers), Merritt has encouraged her to take a larger role in the CSWA once again...exactly what she wanted.

As the glow of 'winning' fades, Merritt turns his eye to the February schedule.  Wicked Sight vs. Evan Aho at the first big PRIMETIME of the year.... but what to do with the rest.  Randalls, GUNS, Windham, Love... they can all play in the same sandbox.  And as for the US Title... well, "Triple X" Sean Stevens is due for a play-date with a former ClaimStaker, right?  But what about Joey Melton....

Hornet.  Even the thought of the name brings a smile to Merritt's lips... at least for a moment, before the rage returns.  How dare he.... how could he.... what if he....  The doubt's still there...but the problem may not be.  Hornet's agent hasn't confirmed his bookings, arguing that he's still 'on vacation' until PRIMETIME. 

San Diego.  What a beautiful city.  And maybe the beginning of a new era... one without the threat of Hornet, or Randalls, or him, around every corner.

If only Merritt could bring himself to believe in wishful thinking....

Sweetwater awaits.
