Back to Part Two

It's more of Day One...with the US Title up for grabs
and a psycho on the loose...and it's not a Windham!

BB: Welcome back, folks.  Four tremendous matches remain tonight, including the huge Double Main Event.  We've already discussed the Flair/Deacon match for the World Championship, but the other half of the Main includes a match for the Unified Tag Team Titles, with newly-crowned champs Powers of Apocalypse facing off against Mark Windham and the man known only as X.  Up next, Cardigo Mysterian takes on Troy Windham, assuming Cardigo hasn't been suspended or arrested.

SB:  For giving Young a few shots.  He should get a medal.

BB:  I'm going to ignore that...as usual.  But up now, we've got a special challenge match, with The Family's Joey Melton taking on The Unholy's Blade.  This match was originally scheduled as a non-title bout, but we've received word that Commissioner Merritt has declared that it will be for the US Championship!

SB:  I'm sure Blade's thrilled about that one.

UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Blade
vs.
Joey Melton

BB: We’ll find out shortly. Let’s send it to Rhubarb, who’s got the introductions.

RJ: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is one-fall for the US Heavyweight Championship. First, the challenger, hailing from New York, New York, he has been known as one of the perennial champions of all time in wrestling. This former Unified Heavyweight Champion was also the first man ever to hold the CSWA World Championship…here is… JOEY MELTON!!!

BB: It’s been a while since we actually heard Joey get cheered…it’s almost bizarre.

SB: Should’ve happened a long time ago.

RJ: His opponent is a member of the Unholy, and is a former Greensboro Champion. He recently defeated stablemate Nemesis to become the current United States Heavyweight Champion…here is….BLADE!

(The lights begin to dim as Melton stands in the ring awaiting Blade's appearance. "Du Hast" by Rammstein begins to play, along with a burst of red and blue pyro flames at the top of the rampway. Blade emerges from the excess smoke, then stands motionless with microphone in hand. After the crowd noise finally dies down, Blade begins to speak to a bewildered Melton)

Blade: The great Joey Melton, a man with a historic past who is attempting to relive his glory days of yore. I realize that your intentions were to step into the squared circle with me tonight in an attempt to bolster your name and thrust your reputation back into the spotlight. However, I am not just another 'sheep' in your flock of victories nor will I ever be for that matter. It is no surprise that I disapprove of the decisions of you and your fellow Family members over recent weeks. Therefore, I have taken it upon myself....

(Blade pauses for a moment to correct himself)

Blade: I stand corrected, WE have taken it upon ourself to band together as a working unit for one sole purpose. And that is to dismantle the Family, one member at a time....

(Blade begins to slowly approach the ring as Joey Melton prepares for an attack)

Blade: Radder and Harders only felt a preview of what is to come. Tonight Melton, you feel the full force, prepare my benevolent friend, for THE END IS NEAR....

(Suddenly, Wicked Sight emerges from the crowd and enters the ring, attacking Joey Melton from behind. Blade quickly joins in and begins to attack Melton unmercifully as Wicked Sight holds him. Blade and Wicked Sight then carry a nearly unconscious Melton over to the far ropes where Wicked Sight removes two sets of handcuffs, using them to restrain each of Melton's arms to the ropes. With their fists wrapped in chains, Blade and Wicked Sight begin to viciously pound the face of a helpless Joey Melton.)

BB:  Somebody's got to get down here and stop this.

SB:  And they'd better hurry up!  That's one of the best wrestlers in the world down there, and they're beating him like a bunch of street thugs!

BB:  If this weren't the wrong time, I'd be amazed that you actually showed some concern.  But it looks like the cavalry is on its way... here come Randy Harders and Steve Radder.  But look out!!!  Two masked men have just rolled out from underneath the ring, and they're attempting to stop Harders and Radder!!!  Harders gets slammed against  the rail, while Radder and one of the masked men are duking it out on the rampway!  In the meantime, Melton is still getting hammered inside by Blade and Wicked Sight.  Since when was Wicked Sight allied with the Unholy?

(Camera shows Blade, Sight and the two mysterious masked men exiting through the crowd)

SB:  Look at the name, goof.

BB:  Finally, Randy Harders has a chair, and after one hit and some missed swings, he finally gets a chance to slide into the ring.  Blade and Sight quickly take a powder and round up their two masked goons.  But Harders may have been too late for Melton...he looks like he's in bad shape.  Harders is quickly calling for the paramedics.  Melton still appears to be conscious, but he's barely moving.  Folks, we're going to cut away while they take care of this in the ring.  Here's a special montage on Eli Flair's opponent for the World Title tonight....Deacon.

Troy Windham vs. Cardigo Mysterian

(Sorry for the short-form, folks...but the card *is* two months late. ;>)

(joined in progress)

BB:  Windham continues to dominate the match, avoiding Mysterian's brief attempts at brawling by keeping on the technical offensive.  Troy sends Cardigo into the ropes....LARIAT!!!  Cardigo hits hard, but quickly rolls outside, breaking up the pin attempt.  And now it looks like Windham's going to follow him.

SB:  Bad move.

BB:  The "King of All Media" has avoided going outside with Cardigo...but it looks like he's tired of playing nice.  He pulls Cardigo to his feet and sends him back-first into the metal railing...and now he sends him shoulder-first into the post.  So far, Windham's continuing to dominate outside.  He wraps Cardigo's arm around the post and goes for a high knee...but Mysterian gets out of the way!  Windham slams hard into the post, and now Troy could be in trouble.  Cardigo posts Windham again...and now it looks like he's pulling those steel ring steps away from their moorings...this could get ugly.

SB:  Could?  This man we're talking about destroyed the face of that little rich punk with one hit.

BB:  That's true...Ill Squeeze had to undergo massive surgery after he and his father got involved with Cardigo.  Windham goes for the ride...and he's send head-first into those steps!!!  Referee Ben Worthington has climbed out of the ring...he wants to get things back inside.  Cardigo has a chair now...and he's stalking Windham!!  Worthington tries to grab the chair as he swings....and gets clipped on the side of the head as he does so.  Windham's still recovering from that shot to the steps...he's crawling toward the ring...but here comes the stalker himself.  Cardigo levels him with a chair shot to the back!!!  Windham goes down, but Cardigo continues the assault!

SB:  The No Limit Soldiers aren't gonna allow this!

BB:  Speaking of the NLS...here comes Bandit!  He jumps on Cardigo from behind, but gets flipped over, hitting hard on the mats.  And now Cardigo lays the boots into Bandit.  Referee Worthington is on his knees, and it looks like he's asking Rhubarb Jones to ring the bell.  In the meantime, Cardigo has turned his attention back to Windham....it looks like security is on its way down for their second attempt at controlling Cardigo tonight.  We're being told that the referee has ruled this one a double count-out....but I don't think that matters much either to Cardigo or Windham right now.

SB:  Good grief!  He just leveled a security guard!

BB:  Yeah, but he can't take on all nine of the ones behind him.  The lead two finally tackle Cardigo, pulling him away from Windham and Bandit.  Folks...we'll be right back after we get all this under control.  Here's a special music video by Hortense and the LOVE Sisters.
