CSWA CHAMPIONS

JS: We're coming to the home stretch here, Bill, this has been an exciting night. Coming up, the World's Heavyweight Champion will defend his title against Presidential Champion Tom Adler in what should be an exciting contest. Bill, who do you like in this one?

BB: ... 

JS: Bill?

BB: You have no idea what we're about to see, do you?

JS: Not as such, but a World Championship match is certainly cause for excitement.

BB: This is a wrestling event, not a golf match.

(CUE UP: "Our House" - Madness)

BB: Tom Adler is pulling quite a respectable reaction out of this crowd. The current Presidential Champion has been at the root of some of the most controversial moments in the CSWA's history, but beyond all that he's one of the finest wrestlers in the world. 

JS: But can he overcome the onslaught of Mark Windham, CSWA World Heavyweight Champion?

BB: ...Longtime fans can remember the times these two men have faced off in team situations in the past, with possibly their most famous meeting being Night Two of Fish Fund XI where Adler successfully defended the United States/National Championship against the Living Legend. But, in all fairness, that *was* a different Mark Windham... and who knows how the years have changed these two?

(CUE UP: "Theme from Close Encounters of the Third Kind")

JS: Well it's obvious to me that the years have been kind to Mark Windham - he's got that blonde girl on one arm and that Big Gold Belt around his waist. What more could a man want?

BB: A marriage that wasn't torn apart? A brother he has a good relationship with? A daughter he gets to see every now and then? His best friend acting like it? 

JS: Harsh words, Buckley. But besides that--

BB: Sanity?

JS: ....

BB: Windham has come to ringside to quite the ovation, with Sunshine Del Payne in tow. Adler has opted to leave Maxwell Diamond and the rest of the Exchange in the locker room... anyone else might be a problem but Sunshine isn't one to interfere in a match. Ben Worthington has finished giving his instructions, and we're underway!

JS: This was certainly the best match that didn't happen of 2003 back at On Time, as these two men lock up, I can't help but think about the implications this match could hold for Battle of the Belts! Mark Windham, of course, is set to defend against his former best friend Hornet, and Tom Adler is pulling double duty in the team challenge match, as well as a United States Championship shot of his own!

BB: Good point, Simons, but--

JS: Adler with a slap to Windham's face! He wants to be the World Champion!

BB: Windham with a right hand! And another! The Presidential Champion is rocked! Windham with a baseball swing, but Adler ducked underneath and hooked the Champ from behind! Full nelson slam! 

JS: There's the cover, we've got a new champion! ONE! T--

BB: Kickout! Windham didn't get that belt by going down so easily, Simons. 

JS: But he's certainly no match for Tom Adler! Adler's trying to save the CSWA, and I think he'll be able to start with a victory tonight!

BB: Adler certainly has an agenda beyond 'saving' the CSWA, as he pulls the Champ back to his feet and slams him to the mat! And another! 

JS: Adler with the heart of a champion tonight!

BB: Adler's already a champion. 

JS: But... Not the World Champ!

BB: Sigh... Windham rolls to the outside to catch a breather... and I can't help thinking what would happen if Adler did take that World Title tonight. Historically, the only match with the potential to be bigger than Hornet against Windham for the strap would be Hornet against Adler for the strap... 

JS: Were Hornet and Adler ever a beloved tag team?

BB: No, not as such--

JS: Then of course that's not as big a match. But if anyone can save the CSWA, it's Tom Adler! 

BB: I doubt that. Windham rolls back into the ring, and he takes Adler down with a legsweep! A boot to the head, and the champion is back on the offensive! Windham off the ropes, and a legdrop! ONE! TWO! KICKOUT!

JS: Adler's not done yet!

BB: Are you for or against Adler? 

JS: Those are such limiting choices. 

BB: Windham with a scoop and a-- There's some sort of disturbance backstage! Windham with a slam! He scoops Adler back up-- THUMB TO THE EYES! Fisherman suplex! ONE! TWO! KICKOUT! 

JS: By any means necessary, Bill... that's what it'll take. 

BB: Adler with an irish whip, POWERSLAM! A yank of the hair and he's back on his knees... Adler with an elbow to the face! 

JS: If Windham is preoccupied with his match against Hornet we're going to see a new champion tonight! Tom Adler has the ability, the drive, and the desire to make it! 

BB: Did you just learn that phrase tonight?

JS: ...

BB: Adler with Windham by the throat, and he's backing the Champion up into the corner-- Windham tripped him up! Adler landed face- first on the middle turnbuckle! He grabs Adler by the back of the neck, and slams his face into the corner again! Windham seems to have regained his focus! 

JS: He'd better have... Adler has nothing to lose here, tonight! For that matter, unless he's facing off against Hornet in the Main Event at Battle of the Belts, he'll have nothing to lose there, either!

BB: Windham pulls Adler to his feet... MULE KICK BY THE PRESIDENTIAL CHAMPION! A spin and a HARD clothesline! The cover--

JS: NEW CHAMPION! NEW CHAMPION! Kickout by Windham!

BB: Adler keeps on top of the Champ, with a forearm across the face! And another! Adler with a scoop, and a gut- wrench suplex! He covers again! 

JS: ONE! TWO! NEW CHAMP--Kickout!

BB: Will you stop that?

(CUTTO: Security in the back, helping Nathan Storm and Bishop up. To the right, Maxwell Diamond is sitting leaned on a smashed- in locker, holding a towel to a bloodied forehead.)

BB: What's--?

JS: Looks like someone took the <> Exchange out! 

BB: Adler had Windham hooked... but the CSWAvision screen's got him distracted! Windham with a reversal! DRAGON SUPLEX! ONE! TWO! THR-KICKOUT! Who's that, Simons?!?

JS: EDDIE MAYFIELD! MAYFIELD FROM THE CROWD! He's got a chair! 

BB: Mayfield just took out Adler with that chair! And a shot to Windham for good measure! Here comes Shane Southern! He's set to defend that United States championship against Adler at Battle of the Belts, but they're also teammates first! Southern pulls Mayfield away, but he doesn't seem too concerned with Adler!

JS: INTRUDER ALERT! GUNS, Pi, and Shamon have hit the ringside! GUNS, Southern, and Adler are all on the same team, but there's no loyalty among these men! WINDHAM WITH A SPEAR ON GUNS! 

BB: No love lost there! But Southern and Windham are outnumbered! Apparently GUNS doesn't care about the team challenge series at Battle of the Belts! Adler slides out of the ring, he doesn't want to get involved here! 

JS: This match has gone to a no- contest, there's no reason to stick around, is there? 

BB: TURN AROUND, ADLER! CRAIG MILES WITH A CHAIR TO THE KNEES! Indian Deathlock! Miles is on the opposing team at Battle of the Belts, but before that, he has a match at ON TIME against Adler for that Presidential Championship! 

(HUGE pop from the crowd)

BB: TROY WINDHAM! TROY WINDHAM HITS THE RING! He's after GUNS first!

JS: Security finally hits the ringside area to break things up, this is certainly an explosive situation, Bill! I can't wait to see how it all comes to pass at Battle of the Belts! 

BB: We're outta time, fans! See you at Virginia Beach!

(As the audio fades, and security is finally able to separate the warring factions, the final scene is of Troy Windham and Craig Miles - opponents at ON TIME as well as BATTLE of the BELTS... face to face.  And neither man looks to be on the verge of backing down...
