FISH FUND X: July 2, 1995 IRONMAN OF CHAMPIONS FOR THE UNIFIED WORLD TITLE RJ: Fans, welcome back, the following is the final match of this huge FISH FUND X Spectacular! It's been a long night, but the best is certainly yet to come in this one. This is the fifteenth and final match of the second IRONMAN OF CHAMPIONS. It will determine who walks out tonight as the new UNIFIED World Heavyweight Champion! First, from San Antonio, Texas, standing at 5'11 and 365 pounds, here is the reigning Enterprises World Heavyweight Champion, and the man with the Strongest Arms In the World! Here is.... GUNS!!!!! RJ: His opponent is from Greensboro, North Carolina. (Theme from The Greatest American Hero begins playing) He stands at 6'5", 269 pounds. He is the former two-time Unified World Champion and twenty-plus time World Champion. He is, The One, The Only, The Greatest American Hero, HORNET!!!!!!!! SB: Well that's a new one! BB: This is the first time these men have met in the ring here in the CSWA. And they've met only once before, in the AAWC, when Hornet barely defeated GUNS to end his run for the AAWC Universal Title. This should be an interesting match. The winner is going to be the one that can capitalize on the other's weakness the best. For Hornet, it's his already worn-down back. For GUNS, his weakness is his already reinjured right knee. Both men have had a chance to rest up at least a few minutes before this match, but they've got to be tired after wrestling four tough matches. But one fact remains, whoever gets the twenty points from this matchup will be the new Unified Champion. GUNS is looking to win his first Unified Title, while Hornet is looking to three-peat, becoming the only man ever to do so. SB: What do you mean? He's the only person to hold it twice. Isn't that enough for him??? BB: Both GUNS and Hornet have 40 points. With the added twenty points from a win in this match, one of them would be in a tie with Karelin. And since both men defeated Karelin earlier, whoever wins this match would win the tiebreaker and the Unified Title. So, both men are in the ring, let's get this match underway! Your referee is Ben Worthington, and this match has a twenty minute time-limit! There's the bell! The two men meet in the center of the ring for a test of strength. In most matches, Hornet would have the edge in strength, but this match is different. SB: Yeah, he's up against The Strongest Arms in the World. BB: Exactly. BB: And it is indeed GUNS who comes away on top, powering Hornet to his knees. GUNS delivers a boot to Hornet's chest and then scoops up Hornet for the power slam! But while Hornet may be on the losing end of the power battle in this one, he is certainly on the winning end of the contest of speed. He is on his feet and dodges getting hooked in another power slam from GUNS. Instead, Hornet does the scooping and puts GUNS down for the belly to back suplex! Hornet tries to follow up, but GUNS pulls Hornet down to the mat. The two toss punches at each other on the mat, and continue to do so as they both make it to their feet. GUNS whips Hornet into the ropes and catches him with a lariat!!!! Hornet quickly rolls out of the ring to catch his breath. GUNS follows him out, but Hornet is ready for him. He sends GUNS shoulder-first into the iron post and then whips him back-first into the metal barricade! Hornet rolls GUNS back in. Let's see if he can keep the momentum going. Hornet sends GUNS packing with a belly to back suplex, and now he whips GUNS into the ropes. FLYING DROPKICK by the former two-time Unified Champion! Hornet follows up quickly with a brainbuster! He hooks the leg for the early cover!! ONE......but GUNS easily kicks out. GUNS rakes Hornet's eyes as a diversion so that he can roll out of the ring and catch his breath. SB: Neither man has gone to work on the other's injury yet. They're going to have to do it to win this match. BB: That's true, Sammy. GUNS is catching his breath, but Hornet follows him outside. Not many people know that Hornet is incredibly effective on the outside, since he rarely gets the opportunity. Hornet comes off the apron and hits GUNS with a knee to the back, sending GUNS into the metal barricade once again, this time neck-first. Again, Hornet rolls GUNS back into the ring. Hornet hooks on the boston crab. Now he's working on the lower back and knee of GUNS. GUNS is clearly in pain, but he's able to grab the ropes and Worthington calls for the break. Hornet lets go of the boston crab and waits for GUNS to get to his feet. Then he delivers a flying dropkick, again sending GUNS out of the ring, this time through the second rope. Hornet follows him out again, delivering a knee drop from the apron onto GUNS' injured knee. Hornet rolls GUNS back in for at least the third time this match. Hornet delivers a quick belly to back suplex, and he follows by hooking in a full nelson. That was the wrong choice for Hornet, because GUNS still has his upper body strength. GUNS quickly powers out of the full nelson, but Hornet doesn't let up, he uses another belly to back suplex to keep GUNS on the mat. He drags GUNS halfway to his feet and hooks in the abdominal stretch. That's got to be putting some pressure on that knee of GUNS. BB: GUNS is struggling to escape the ad stretch. He can't count on his leg strength because of that injured knee, so he's trying to use those Strongest Arms in the World to break the hold. But the ad stretch depends on those legs for power, and that means GUNS is in trouble. Every second he's stuck in this painful maneuver puts him much closer to defeat. Finally, GUNS is able to grab the ropes, breaking the hold. But he has no time to mount an offense, because Hornet goes after him hard with dropkick that sends him through the ropes again! I don't think we've seen this much action go on outside the ring during match since..... SB: Since the last match. BB: Ok, so it was bad timing. Sue me. SB: I wish. BB: Hornet comes off the apron with a two-fisted hammer on GUNS' back. GUNS falls to the blue mats on the concrete floor, and Hornet follows quickly with a belly to back suplex. SB: I told you. Hornet's such a goody-two-shoes he won't go after GUNS' knee. BB: Maybe he doesn't feel like he has enough reason to end GUNS' career. SB: Well why not? GUNS certainly tried to end his on more than one occasion! Just another reason why Hornet has fallen from the top. BB: I wouldn't say that. Right now he's wrestling for the Unified Championship against the EN World Champion! SB: Well, when you put it that way. BB: Hornet continues his domination, but now both men are back in the ring! Hornet whips GUNS into the ropes and catches the big man with a clothesline that sends him sprawling. Hornet waits for GUNS to get to his feet and then rocks him with another clothesline! Hornet pulls GUNS to his feet and sends him lurching towards the ropes. There's another flying dropkick! Hornet hooks the leg and covers! ONE.......no, GUNS kicks out. Hornet pulls GUNS to his feet and delivers a series of huge heart kicks. GUNS hits the mat, and Hornet heads up top! SHOOTING STAR PRESS off the top!!! Hornet nails it! ONE............... TWO......NO! GUNS gets his foot on the ropes. We were just a moment away from seeing our first three-time Unified Champion! Hornet pulls GUNS away from the ropes and there's yet another belly to back suplex. It looks like it's only a matter of time, Sammy. SB: I hate to say it, but you may be right. Maybe El Nino will bungee down again and attack Hornet. I mean, you can always hope, right? BB: The former three-time CSWA World Champion pulls GUNS' bulk up and puts him into the mat with the brainbuster! That could be a setup for what's to come. Hornet pulls GUNS up and sends him toward the turnbuckle!!! But referee Ben Worthington gets caught in the line of fire!! GUNS' body catches Worthington hard, and both referee and wrestler hit hard! Worthington is down and out near the turnbuckle, and GUNS just hit hard back-first into that turnbuckle! Hornet follows in! HORNET SPLASH!!!! Hornet moves out of the way and lets the Strongest Arms in the World fall like a huge sequoia in the middle of the forest. Worthington is still out like a light near the ring apron. But Hornet pulls GUNS to the center of the ring! BB: Here we go! SCORPION DEATHLOCK!!!!! GUNS yells out in pain as Hornet cinches the deadliest move in the sport in on that injured knee of GUNS! You wanted Hornet to be ruthless to win, Sammy, well here ya go. SB: I didn't say he had to break GUNS' leg! For goodness' sakes one bone-snapping a night is enough for me! BB: I quite agree on that one! Hornet pulls harder and harder on the legs of GUNS, further wrenching that injured right knee. GUNS is obviously in incredible pain. You've got to think he's willing to give it up, but there's no referee to ask him! Ben Worthington is still down and out in the corner of the ring. SB: GUNS give up? You've got to be kidding! BB: Um, it HAS happened before, Sammy. And the way GUNS is yelling right now, he's got to be close if not already over the edge. SB: Maybe the midgets will come down and save him too! BB: Well, GUNS isn't screaming anymore, in fact, he's not doing much of anything anymore. He appears to be out in the middle of the ring. Hornet has this match won, but there is no Ben Worthington ready to award him the win. Hornet lets up on the Scorpion and heads over to the side of the ring to wake Ben Worthington. Hold on, GUNS seems to be coming back to life in the middle of the ring. Hornet doesn't give him a moment to rest. He pulls GUNS to his feet and sends him down with a belly to back suplex, and then pulls GUNS back up. Hornet measures him and then goes back to come off the ropes. Hornet charges GUNS, but GUNS falls to his good knee and launches Hornet over the top rope!!! And Worthington is still down, so he didn't see it! Hornet comes down hard on his back on the ring apron!!! SB: He's hurt, Bill. He's really hurt. BB: You don't have to sound so happy about it! Hornet has this match won until GUNS sent him over the top in desperation! GUNS scoots over to where Worthington is lying and tries to pull himself up to his feet by the ropes. Hornet is still outside on the floor, and he's not making any motion to get up. SB: GUNS has got to get Hornet back in the ring. He cannot win the IRONMAN with just 15 points for the countout win! BB: And it seems like GUNS heard you, because he moves away from Worthington and heads to get Hornet back into the ring. GUNS is still in trouble; he can't put any weight at all on that right knee. And we can't tell the extent of Hornet's injury yet, except that it is obvious his back has been reinjured. Hornet is up on his knees, and GUNS leans under the bottom rope to pull Hornet back into the ring by his hair! Both men are in the ring, but they're both off their feet. Hornet is barely moving, and GUNS cannot get to his feet without incredible pain and risking further injury. We could have a double count-out here if Worthington ever wakes up! SB: And it looks like he might! He's stirring over there in the corner! BB: GUNS pulls the unconscious Hornet into the center of the ring and covers him! Worthington is still blurry-eyes, but he counts it from across the ring!! ONE..........no, Hornet gets his right shoulder up! I don't know how Hornet got that shoulder up, but somehow he did. Ben Worthington is slow getting to his feet, but he finally does, and he begins the standing ten-count on both men. Both GUNS and Hornet are pulling on the ropes, trying to make it to their feet before the ten count. Hornet falls back onto the mat and begins again, but GUNS is finally successful in making it to his feet, breaking the ten count. GUNS grimaces each time he puts any weight on that right knee, but he knows that he's so close to winning the Unified Championship, he doesn't care. SB: Finish him! End it! BB: Hornet is finally on his feet. GUNS puts him down with a slam. He pulls Hornet upside down! He's going to try and end it all here! PILEDRIVER! He covers! ONE...... NO, Hornet gets his leg on the ropes! Neither man is willing to give up in this one! SB: They better start thinking about ending it, because only five minutes remain in the match! BB: Good point! GUNS is using his incredible upper body strength, but he can't use any maneuver where he would have to pick Hornet up because of his knee. GUNS pulls Hornet to his feet again, and there's a DDT!!! GUNS follows, setting up Hornet and sending him hard into the mat with a TOMBSTONE! GUNS covers! ONE.......TWO......NO, the shoulder is up! Hornet has no chance of winning this match, but he's not giving it up! Hold on, GUNS is yelling something at Hornet. Let's get that ring microphone on! GUNS: It's over, Bugbrain. Give it up now before I snap your neck, your back, whatever! You know who the better man is! BB: GUNS pulls Hornet up again, and there's another DDT! GUNS: Don't you know when you've met your match? It's over, Hornet! BB: But GUNS only gets a two-count before Hornet gets the shoulder up. Hornet isn't answering any of GUNS' taunts. GUNS: Don't get up again! I told you that this is over! BB: And AGAIN, GUNS puts Hornet down with the tombstone and covers!! ONE.........TWO......NO, again Hornet is up! RJ: Three minutes remain in this match. SB: There's no way either of these men can go for another three minutes. This one is going to end right here, right now. BB: GUNS pulls Hornet to his feet and whips him into the turnbuckle! He can't run to follow him in, but there's no rush, because Hornet slumps to the mat still in the corner. GUNS lifts Hornet and puts him on the top rope! SB: He can't be going for a superplex can he???? BB: I think so. Since he can't put much pressure on his knee, he's going to let momentum do the work for him! And when he throws Hornet onto his back from the top rope, this match is over! GUNS: I told you it's over, boy. But now I'm going to end your career! HORNET: Don't bet on it, steroidboy. If I can't win this thing, then either can you! BB: Hornet has come to life on the top turnbuckle! Hornet blocks GUNS' attempt to send him to the mat! GUNS can't put any pressure on that knee, so Hornet is able to stay perched on that top turnbuckle while GUNS pushes off the second rope. RJ: Ninety seconds remain! SB: After all that, this thing is gonna end in a time limit draw? What a jip! BB: Hornet said that if he couldn't win, he wouldn't let GUNS. But I don't know if he'll have any choice in the matter. If GUNS gets him off that turnbuckle, this match is over! GUNS pulls at Hornet again, but Hornet pulls back, and now we've got two men fighting for their lives! Hornet places his feet on the second rope and pulls! GUNS just WENT TO THE OUTSIDE FROM THE TOP TURNBUCKLE!!! He is hurt! Referee Ben Worthington is calling for the bell!!!! Rhubarb? RJ: Referee Ben Worthington has awarded the match to GUNS via disqualification of Hornet for throwing his opponent over the top rope. That means GUNS finishes with a 3-2 record, but only 55 points! ALEXANDR KARELIN IS YOUR NEW UNIFIED WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! BB: There's gonna be some celebrating back in Mad Mike's stable tonight! Karelin, who tossed away the Presidential Belt earlier in the night, is the new Unified Champion! SB: I can't believe it. I just can't believe it! BB: What are you talking about? Karelin's a great wrestler, a true IRONMAN, after wrestling five matches in a row. SB: Not that, idiot. I could understand when Mark Windham did the number on Timmy. I could even believe it when El Nino attacked the Midgets. But Hornet deliberately got disqualified to keep GUNS from winning the Unified Title? How unfair is that!!!!???? BB: About as unfair as GUNS launching Hornet over the top rope earlier in the match. SB: Yeah, but the ref didn't see that so it was legal! BB: I always knew there were synapses in your brain that just don't connect. Paramedics are attending to GUNS who may be seriously injured after that fall from at least twelve feet above the floor. Hornet has also walked over to the trainers' room to have his back checked out. And meanwhile, champagne is flowing for Alexandr Karelin, who has won this IRONMAN OF CHAMPIONS! That's all we have time for tonight, folks! Thanks for joining us! Be sure to join us for AAWC: UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP, CSWA SUPERPRIMETIME: Until They All Come Home, and later in August for DISNEY DAYS!!!! This is Bill Buckley for Sammy Benson, Stan Parsons, and Rhubarb Jones, signing off! (credits roll) (screen fades out)
